Penrose Library is being transformed into the Anderson Academic Commons. The only thing unchanged from the original Penrose is the central campus location at the heart of the University of Denver. Abundant windows in the Anderson Academic Commons take advantage of Colorado's plentiful sunshine. The patio overlooking Carnegie Green, and the Front Porch Cafe within the library, will offer a place to take a break and re-fuel. The layout of the Anderson Academic Commons reflects the evolution of the academic experience, by supporting learning in a social context, with technologically equipped small and large group study rooms, as well as spaces for individual quiet study. By clustering information technology tools with resources in research, writing, math and digital media, all under one roof with the traditional assets of Penrose Library, the Anderson Academic Commons will become DU's hub of inquiry and engagement.
